Why is change so hard? Every time we make a decision we make a change. It sounds so simple and yet it can cause stress, anxiety, joy, excitement, or even peace. Then add at least one more person and the change can take on a new twist. As a professional, we typically need to think about staying ahead of the curve of change. Researchers have figured out that when we deal with change it is possible to go through a cognitive process similar to losing a loved one.
